The Independence Convention extends invitation to Liberal Democrats

The Independence Convention has today issued an invitation to the Scottish Liberal Democrats to join the Convention officially.

In a statement (today) John Drummond, Chair and co-founder of the Convention said “It is important to note that the Independence Convention is not a political organisation. Although its membership includes political parties it was designed to attract and mobilise all those who believe in Scottish Independence. The Steel Commission Report highlights the practicalities of self government, and recognises the serious defects in the current constitutional arrangements. My letter to Sir David Steel today makes clear, the Independence Convention welcomes everyone who wishes to support and embrace the movement for an Independent Scotland. But it should be noted, the Independence Convention seeks to put no limits on the wishes of the Scottish people.”
