B*gger off oh Labour MacMahon!
"HERE'S a fundamental question for the gradualist majority within the Scottish National Party..."
PETER MACMAHON
I don't need to read the rest of this article to know that this ex-Labour spin doctor is still desperately trying to do what he does best, spin the continuation of divide 'n' rule!
There is no genuine fundamentalist / gradualist split in the SNP or out of it.
We all want independence, we would all like to see more powers for the Scottish parliament and we all know that we won't get them without independence.
I suggest the SNP should forget about which 'wing' is best, the debate has now moved on. Suddenly all our independent parties are working together, and if the unionists aren't cr*pping it yet, they will be.
The SNP doesn't need to do a deal with Labour, the Tories or the Lib Dems (though the Lib Dems have proved they have their price) all it needs to do is push a common pro-democratic agenda with the other parties based in Scotland and reject the daily mail style TINA bullsh*t whether it comes from the 'so called Scotsman' or anyone else.
The convention meeting was a great moment in our movement's history, let's savour it and learn the lessons. Let's reject all attempts at Divide 'N' Rule, so Kenny and Mather have a different vision of Scotland, who cares, their vision might appeal to some folk, and at least now the party under Salmond/Sturgeon has a common agenda and a consistent political line.
That has to be welcomed and all the parties strong support for this new convention means a new dawn for Scotland. Peter MacMahon can stick his deals with the Tories where the sun don't shine, his party is no different from them, but the SNP, SSP and Greens are different, their loyalty is to Scotland first, not the dying embers of a racist empire.
CHEERS! SAOR ALBA!

Joe - put something on to stop the spammers!
Anyway - I agree about MacMahon, he is a Labour party apparatchik, and the last thing he wants is independence, so divide and conquer is his answer.
